The Nepean Handbell Ensemble
The Nepean Handbell Ensemble is made up of adults both with and without disabilities or mental illness.
They use Schulmerich Handbells and a large variety of percussion instruments to create music for performance.
Our philosophy gives regard to the musical ability in all people. By using suitable musical arrangement it is possible for professional and amateur musicians (despite any disability or mental illness) to successfully perform as equals.
Ensemble members are involved in decisions about repertoire and performances.
The Ensemble is available for bookings. Fees are available on application. All funds raised are used to purchase music and equipment for the ensemble.
Our purpose:-
- to provide adults with or w disabilities or mental illness the opportunity to work together in music at an advanced level.
- to give public performances throughout the year.
- to help and encourage ensemble members to reach their musical potential.
- to demonstrate to the wider community that people with disabilities or mental illness are able to contribute to the arts.

Please Note:
- Access to an audition is open to any adult with a disability or mental illness.
- Previous musical experience is not necesssary.
- Parts may be arranged to include differing levels of musical skills.
- Each application will be assessed individually. So if you enjoy music but have not had the opportunity to join a group before please do not hesitate to apply.
