Our Scholarship Program

Scholarship Conditions

1. These scholarships will be awarded annually for tuition at the Joan Sutherland Performing Arts Centre. The value of each scholarship is $1386 ($1524.60 incl. gst) being 100% payment of a half hour lesson per week for 42 weeks.

The Value of each half scholarship is $693 ($762.30 incl. gst), being 50% payment of a half hour lesson per week for 42 weeks.

2. Age limits for entrants will apply to the following categories:

VOCAL Up to 23 years at December 31, 2009
PIANO Up to 23 years at December 31, 2009
INSTRUMENTAL Up to 23 years at December 31, 2009

 

NB: Scholarship participants will need the equivalent of three years of study. Exception to this condition is at the discretion of the Director of the Conservatorium.

 

3. To apply, candidates need to complete an application form, following which they will be required to audition. Candidates 14 years of age and under will give a recital with a maximum duration of six minutes. Candidates 15 years and over will give a recital with a maximum duration of ten minutes. All candidates will be required to perform two contrasting works.

4. Adjudicators shall be appointed by the Joan Sutherland Performing Arts Centre.

5. The adjudicators' decision is final and they will not enter into any correspondence. The age limits above may be waived in exceptional circumstances.

6. Applications close on FRIDAY, 20 NOVEMBER, 2009 for all scholarships.

7. Auditions will take place at the Joan Sutherland Performing Arts Centre on
    SATURDAY, 5 DECEMBER, 2009 from 9:30am.

8. Students will need to organize their own accompaniment.
