Three girls. Three pathways. One destination.
‘This Girl Laughs, This Girl Cries, This Girl Does Nothing’ is a new fairytale for audiences aged 8 and up.
Three sisters are abandoned in the middle of a forest by their woodcutter father. Facing an uncertain future, one sister resolves to walk one way around the world, one sister decides to walk the other way and the third sister decides to stay put. Over 20 years, the three sisters go through many journeys and rites of passage, before the two wanderers circumnavigate the globe and find themselves back at that same place in the woods, where the third sister waits. Here they meet again as women.
Finegan Kruckemeyer is one of Australia’s most exciting playwrights and ‘This Girl Laughs, This Girl Cries, This Girl Does Nothing’ promises to thrill, delight and surprise audiences of all ages.
