FREE PERFORMANCE AND WORKSHOPS

The Australian Ballet Dance Education Ensemble and the Joan Sutherland Performing Arts Centre are offering four days of FREE performances and workshops for primary and secondary students. Open to Primary (years 3-6) and Secondary (years 7-9) students, these workshops are suitable for students of any ability in dance; beginner to advanced, the workshops will be tailored to your needs.

THE PERFORMANCE
Attending the performance provides students with front row seats as the Australian Ballet Dance Education Ensemble strut their dancing stuff! Dance concepts and techniques will be discussed and demonstrated by the professional dance ensemble in this 60 minute presentation. Several dance styles will be included in the content (not just ballet). All students will have the opportunity to ask questions at the end of this performance.

THE WORKSHOPS
Complementing the performance, attending the workshops gives students the chance to practice their moves with professionals. Joining the Australian Ballet Education Dance Ensemble for these 60 minute workshops is a fantastic way to introduce students to the world of dance. The workshops will explore a range of movement ideas that are used in different dance styles including classical ballet and contemporary dance and we encourage anyone who has never danced before to join these free workshops. If your students have previous dance experience, let us know before you attend and we will set the ‘Barre’ a little higher!
