SENIORS’ CHOIR
Established in 2006, the Seniors’ Choir provides an opportunity for seniors in our local community to develop their vocal skills, and sing much-loved songs, conducted by professional vocal teacher, Kerrie O’Connor.
Weekly Meetings
The Seniors’ Choir meets each Tuesday from 1pm to 2pm at the Joan, for a group lesson led by Kerrie O’Connor, with piano accompanist Liz Murray. Weekly group lessons include vocal exercises, performance preparation, and a whole lot of fun singing together as a group.
Community Performances
Over the past few years, demand has grown for the Seniors’ Choir to perform at a wide range of local events.
Following their inaugural performance at Seniors’ Day 2007, in front of 400 people in the Richard Bonynge Concert Hall, they have also performed at memorial services, aged care facilities, senior citizens clubs, workers clubs, charity meetings and International Women’s Day.
See The Seniors’ Choir Perform
On Thursday 4 December you can see the Seniors’ Choir perform, along with our 2008 Scholarship Holders, at the Joan Sutherland Performing Arts Centre Scholarship Concert at 7pm. Entry is free.
